On September 19 at 8:00 p.m. Spain time, Global MPN Scientific Foundation will host a Restorative Yoga Masterclass for people living with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN) and their families, as part of the Wellbeing Project.

The session will be guided by Marga Linares, a facilitator specialized in yoga, meditation, sound therapy and mindfulness, and is designed as a space for pause, body awareness and self-care.

Restorative yoga is a gentle practice that uses supported postures, conscious breathing and props such as blankets, cushions or blocks to encourage physical and mental rest. It is not about pushing the body, but about offering it a safe and kind environment to release tension, restore calm and reconnect with the present moment.

Wellbeing and MPN: support beyond medical treatment

Living with an MPN can involve symptoms, medical monitoring, uncertainty, fatigue and changes in daily life. Through the Wellbeing Project, we aim to offer complementary activities that support different dimensions of wellbeing.

This masterclass does not replace medical treatment or follow-up with a hematologist. Its purpose is to offer an accessible and adapted practice that may help create a moment of calm and presence for patients and families.

Wellbeing can also be built through small spaces: a more conscious breath, a comfortable posture, a few minutes of rest or a greater sense of connection with the body.

A gentle, accessible and restorative practice

During the session, Marga Linares will guide a restorative yoga practice focused on rest and nervous system regulation. The class is designed so each person can participate according to their own possibilities, respecting their limits and needs.

The masterclass is open both to people who already practice yoga and to those who are approaching this type of activity for the first time.

Participants are encouraged to have nearby, where possible:

  • A yoga mat or comfortable surface.

  • A blanket.

  • A cushion or pillow.

  • Comfortable clothing.

  • A quiet space to follow the session.

A space to pause without stepping away from life

Sometimes, care does not mean doing more. It means creating a small space where the body does not have to prove anything.

This Restorative Yoga Masterclass aims to be exactly that: an invitation to slow down, breathe more calmly and share a practice designed to support the MPN community through wellbeing.

At Global MPN Scientific Foundation, we will continue to promote spaces that help patients and families feel more informed, supported and connected.

Before starting any physical activity or wellbeing practice, especially if symptoms, limitations or medical concerns are present, we recommend discussing it with your hematologist or healthcare professional.
